The Schleitheim Confession AD 1527

Since Glendon Fox submitted the article “Revival in Schleitheim”, I thought it would be fitting to place the actual Schleitheim Confession here in total. It is indeed an amazing work. The Reformation, now a little over 10 years since Luther nailed his 95 theses on the Wittenberg door, had quickly become a state church of their own.

A wonderful story is told by a Moravian missionary in connection with angelic protection.

An American missionary and his wife bravely went to their station, where, twenty years before, two missionaries had been killed and eaten by the natives.

In 1900, the Internation-al Prison Congress was held in St. Petersburg. The greatest jailor on earth, the Tsar of all the Russias, the turnkey of the great ice dungeon, Siberia, opened the sessions. Grand dukes and other notables of Russian high society were present in force.

There were gala dinners and receptions. At one session a French sociologist in evening dress read a paper on incorrigibles. It shone in faultless rhetoric. “This class of criminals are hopelessly sick. No reclamation is possible. All that can be done is, in one or another way, to render them harmless.”

As I look back at the last few weeks, there is no way that I can sit back and not give the Lord praise and glory. The Lord has done so many marvelous works in my life, and especially the last two years, I hope I can adequately express with words just how faithful He has been time and time again to me and my family.
