There was a man sent from God whose name was John.

He was a burning and a shining light.

• ...filled with the Holy Ghost, from the womb.
• ...none greater, born of women.
• ...the voice of one crying in the wilderness.
• ...in the deserts, till the day of his shewing.
• ...the prophet of the Highest.

He went before the face of the Lord to turn the heart of the Fathers.

He said, behold the Lamb of God.

• ...make straight in the desert,
  a highway for our God.
• ...Repent ye.
